If you are not working, you can look into adult day care for your loved one. Just one day a week may help. You're loved one will be supervised while you have a few hours to yourself. Please refer to my past article Adult Day Care Centers, to learn more about day centers. If this is not an option, ask a family member or close family friend to visit with your loved one for a little bit.

If you just do not have the time or means, enjoy a hot shower with a great smelling soap. Lather on the same scented lotion or powder and then put your feet up and read a book or magazine.

Picking the Right Scent(s)

Depending on how you are feeling on that particular day, choose that scent to get the most of your relaxation time. Citrus scents are wonderful for energizing, while floral scents are wonderful for calming. Choose one that is pleasing to your nose, not one that you think you should use. Lavender is wonderful for healing and easing the mind, but if you do not care for the Lavendar smell, do not use it. It won't have the same effect on you as it would if you loved the scent.

Choosing the Right Product(s)

There are so many bath treats out there, so it's important to choose the right one(s). Below, I have listed out several bath treats.

Shower Gels and Cream Washes: Gels and Creams are an excellent way of inhaling scents if you only have a few minutes to spare. Most shower washes come in gels, but the creams are more moisturizing. As long as they smell nice to you, it doesn't matter which one you choose. It washes off soon after it is put on, so choose a scent that appeals to you.

Bubble Bath: Bubble Baths are fun, especially when you get the right product, one that lasts and lasts and lasts. It's no fun losing the bubbles after 5 minutes.

Bath Bombs: Bath Bombs are round or shaped solids that are made out of baking soda and citric acid. They soothe the skin, and depending on the ingredients, can soothe your head.

Bath Oils: Bath Oils are excellent for softening the skin and making the bath smell scrumptious. If you have sensitive skin, it may be a good idea to rinse off in the shower after your bath.
