We have all felt worn down at one time or another. It doesn't matter how much sleep we get or how many naps we sneak in, we still feel tired. And, on top of that, we are stressed because there aren't enough hours in the day to do the shopping, to clean the house, to take Mom to her appointments, the list goes on. This article is about time for YOU. The more we care for ourselves, the better we can care for our loved ones.
Men, don't be fooled by thinking long baths and showers are just for women. Many products have scents especially formulated for you. Read below for the steps in getting your much needed, enjoyable bath. Alone time is very important in the caregiving role. It gives us time to wind down from the day's activities. Depending on your schedule, you may need to be a little creative to gather time for your much needed stress-relieving bath. If you are caring for a parent, but you have a significant other, ask your spouse to make sure all is well while you relax. You can even do this when your loved one is asleep to lessen the possibility of being called. If you are the only one caring for your loved one, you may have to play around with the most appropriate time. It also depends on how much your loved one can and cannot do. If your loved one is totally dependent on you, try to get away while your loved one has gone to bed. Leave the door open, so you can hear your loved one should he/she wake up. Or, you can invest in a baby monitor. Monitors are very helpful because you can place one in your loved one's room and in the room where you will be. Do NOT place any electric devices by water. Make sure the monitor is well away from any water or any possibility that the monitor will come in cotact with water.
