Household Chores & Elderly
Cooking
Your loved one can help you by rinsing off and/or handing you vegetables. Make sure that sharp items (such as knives) are out of the way. If you are baking, your loved one can pour contents into bowls and help stir the mixtures.
Setting/Clearing Table
If you are worried about your loved one accidentally dropping breakables, you can purchase non-breakable dinnerware such as Correlle. Or, you can stick to the basic and use plastic for everyday use.
Hanging Landry
If you have a laundry line, this is a great way to get some fresh air. Your loved one can hand you the pins to hang clothes.
Making Beds
Your loved one can puff up pillows, replace pillow covers, and help you pull up the sheets.
Gardening
You and your loved one can spend time together and get some fresh air. Your loved one can help pat the soil, hand you seeds, help weed, etc. Just be aware of your loved one's limits. This is a fantastic activity for loved ones who enjoyed gardening in the past. If your loved one does not like to garden, they can keep you company outside. They can sit in the sun, drink some lemonade, and listen to music. Be creative.

*Do not feel guilty about your loved one helping around the house. Think back to when you were a child. Did you enjoy helping mom or dad? If you are worried about it, you can ask your loved one ahead of time if he/she would like to help you.
