Rescue Heroes Hurricane Havoc Review

. This cd-rom adventure, based on the Fisher Price Rescue Heroes line of toys, will keep your child busy with imaginative role play which teaches safety, respect for the environment, and teamwork. This game also provides a lot of practice with clicking, dragging, moving the mouse, and using directional arrows. After completing all the Training Camp emergency rescue missions, your child will be presented with an Rescue Heroes Certificate with his or her new Rescue Heroes call sign. After becoming an official Rescue Hero, your child can continue to play the activities, trying to beat his or her old "best" times.

Here's the scenario. A hurricane has hit the Metro Bay Area. Fires and floods have put the city in danger. Your help is needed. Sign in on the Rescue Rookie Register, then "gear up" with Rescue Heroes equipment you design and print. You can also design your own Rescue Heroes control panel, and watch a short video about tropical storms.

Ready, rookie? Now it's time to try your hand at the five training activities. These include:

SAVE THE PETS - Move the mouse to aim the water canon. Then click and hold the mouse button to squirt water until the fire is extinguished. Then search for the pets, and click and drag them into the rescue basket.

HELICOPTER HEROICS - Fires have broken out all over the city, and Wendy Waters needs your help.Click on the arrow buttons to maneuver the helicopter over a fire or stranded person. Click the blue button to drop water on the fire. Move the helicopter until the person to be rescued is in the middle of the circle. A harness will automatically be lowered to pick them up. Follow the map to find all the fires and people.

FLOOD RUNNER - Choose to ride with either Gil Gripper or Nemo, the dolphin. Hold down the mouse button to move through the flood zone. Jump over the ramps for more speed, but watch out for other obstacles.

ROADBLOCK BUSTER - Emergency vehicles need to get through the city. Use the map to help Jake Justice find the roadblocks. Then click on the Roadblock Buster Switch to knock the debris out of the way.

BUILDING BREAKTHROUGH - Help save the valuable artifacts in the Metro Bay Museum. Hold down the mouse to break through each floor with the jackhammer. At each level you will need to click and drag the grappling hook to pick up the exhibits and lift them through the ceiling.
