About this Topic

Hello, everyone. I've been writing this column for a couple of years now, and no.... this isn't an announcement of my giving it up. As long as Suite 101 is here, I will be here. At least that's what I plan on.

However, at this time, I thought it would be a good idea to recap what this column and I are all about. Besides, this gives me a good way to catch up with my article quota.

Seriously, this column is different from other software review columns, because I am not part of a business or company or organization. I am a mother, a wife, and a children's writer. I began reviewing software several years ago for Tutor House, a small online software company. When that company closed, I started my column here on Suite 101.

I am not loyal to any particular software publisher. Sometimes software publishers send me review copies, but most of the time, I review software I have selected for my family.

Also I am a Mac user, so everything I review will be Mac compatible. 99% of it will be PC compatible also. I have a new chess title from Tivola to bring you, but I have to wait until I have some friends to play it. Then I'll pass on the news to you.

Suite 101 has undergone a lot of changes in the last year or so, and so have I. Consequently, some of my readership has fallen off. Sometimes I feel I'm talking to an empty audience. So please start a discussion, leave me a comment, some how tell me you are out there, and what you like about this topic. I'm also open to suggestions.

Since I'm a one woman team here, and I have other duties and jobs, particularly a three foot blonde one that follows me around everywhere, I can't bring you new reviews rapid fire. But what I can do is browse the web and point you to other reviews and news of the children's software industry.

Many new titles have been released in the last month or two, and I am busy looking for reviews and information on them. I would also like to include some reviews of online sites which have games and activities for children, as well as other electronic interactive toys. One such toy is the V-Tech Voyager System which bought my husband and I peace and quiet during the long car drive across three large states.
