One thing is certain: there will be more attempts to bring the physical world into the realm of e-books. Unless it is transformed to something uniquely beneficial in the electronic environment, consumers will continue returning to what we've always been used to. In a sense, your e-book can't just approximate reality. It has to be "better" than reality. Evolution happens whether we like it or not. Unless e-book publishers can take what we currently have and add some kind of useful twist, there might be no next generation. It's up to all of us to reach inside and spark a creative bonfire.
