Your Search Engine Friendly Web Page Template - Page 2© Manuel Viloria
For example, check out http://www.useit.com to see what simple design means. Then head on over to http://www.glassdog.com to a less simple site.
Your free web page sample has a built-in stylesheet that makes the text of your web page easier to read. Instead of text running all the way from left to right on your screen, you will see (if you are using Netscape or IE version 4.0 or higher) a narrow centered column occupying only 60% of your screen's width. With plain html web design and stylesheets, you can have web pages that search engines will love and that human readers will find relatively easier to read online. This assumes, however, that you are a writer and that you sell information. If you are a designer and you sell graphics or web design services, a simple-looking site will turn customers away. As you learn to create your own sets of web pages, you will be in a better position to use programs (called HTML Compilers) that can take your web pages and then assemble them into a single, easy to distribute, electronic book or ebook. Some design issues are mentioned in the sample web page itself. It helps to remember that your web page should be reader-focused:
Please don't worry if your page looks plain. Remember, it's the words that sell; not the pictures (unless you're selling a picture book, of course). In the future, I will prepare for you other web page templates with royalty-free images or graphics. You will also discover what to look for in a good html compiler, otherwise known as an ebook maker. That's it for now. Thank you for joining me and happy web page building. Kind regards, Manuel Viloria P.S. What's that? Still can't get yourself to learn HTML but you want a web site? All right, all right... Check out http://www.vjungle.com (they have templates you can use, give you space for your site, and also allow the experienced few to send in their own html pages.)
