Whip me, Beat me, Call me BettyMy visit to the ER has made me re-think the stress in my life, and I have decided to make some changes in the near future. However, medical reform is not on that list. I will leave that to the legislatures, court systems, Managed Care Experts, Medical Doctors, Professional Staff Members, Hospital Advisory Committees, and Re-current Patients. Maybe the next time you go in to the ER or the doctor’s office, you can look around and see what I mean. Maybe, if we all begin to care a little more for each other, the care will spread to the medical community, and to our hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice providers. I can not imagine being really at death’s door, and the last voice I hear being one that is cool, impersonal, and obviously over worked. How sad and scary that thought is. Take care of yourself, and those you love, and let your doctor know that you are not a number, you are a person, with concerns and fears. That your life is filled with love, and should be respected, revered, and fought for, with patience, kindness and love. Good luck and God Bless as you journey through life in this year 2001!
