No time in the present

Where has the time gone to? I wake up and then, almost immediately, it becomes time to have lunch, go to bed... my life is passing by at an alarming rate.

It seems when I was a child, time, mostly, stood still. Can you remember being awake at 1:00 am, on Christmas morning, just waiting for the clock to bring those gifts to you?

Or waiting for the day when you could have your own car or place, or money, or job?

Now we just want to rest.

As a child a nap seems like a punishment. Now, to me, it seems more like a reward.

Ah, yes. Time. Time waits for no man, time is on my side, time keeps on slipping...well, you get the idea.

What is so important about time? Well, time is so fleeting, in the big picture. Imagine that it seems an eternity of time between a newborn and a seventy year old person. Yet, in reality, that is a mere 70 summers. Are you making the most of yours? Time can be used wisely, good choices, good decisions, making the most of those all too brief days, months and years.

However, time can also be wasted. You know what I mean, one of those days when you get ready for bed, and can’t remember having done a single worthwhile thing all day. Maybe you slept too much, or laid around watching TV (how sad to watch other people live pretend lives, instead of living your own).

Take the time to chose what you want, and then live it. Don’t wait for the magic moment, or the right time, to have fun. Just do it! (Thanks, Nike)

If you need to lose weight, take it easy, what better way to lose weight than to enjoy and live your life everyday to the fullest, losing weight in the meantime. (Start out walking, end up rollerblading!)

It can and will happen.

And, what if your idea of having fun is watching movies? Then get out and at least go to the theater. Walk through the mall first, have a meal, enjoy your life. The whole point is to live. To not let one of those 70 summers go to waste.

We regret what we don’t do far more than what we did. Live! Have fun! Be yourself, but first, experiment with life so that you know who your self really is, and what it wants. We waste much too much time on worrying about our jobs, and our work place or boss’ and far too little time on our families, friends, and ourselves. Work is important, but is it more important than you children, or your grandparents? Life is too short to not take care of yourself and do what you want.
