Can losing sleep lead to weight gain?

© Betty O. Spangle

According to a new study released by the American Diabetes Association losing sleep can not only lead to weight gain, but, eventually, as a result, to diabetes.

This study would suggest that research subjects that did not receive their required amount of sleep (averaging from 6 to 10 hours per night) gained weight which lead to continual sleep problems, diabetes, and some thyroid disorders.

Though the report did not suggest that scientists knew why this happened, the fact that it did, indeed, happen, was very clearly stated.

Are you missing out on sleep, and causing your health to go down?

Make sure to find your perfect sleep requirement, that number of hours that leaves you refreshed, and not groggy. Once you find it, live by it!

Get plenty of sleep, and drink plenty of water, keeping your body, and your spirit, as young as possible.
