What are you weighting for?

When I lose weight I'm going to take my kids to Disney World. I can't wait! Are you planning on doing something wonderful, spectacular and out of this world when you lose weight? Well, stop it! So, what's wrong with that, you ask? The problem is not making plans, or having ambitions, those things are great. The problem comes in when we place our lives on hold waiting for a special moment, or the right time. This not only applies to weight, it applies to every aspect of our lives. Have you ever bought a really nice dress, and then hung it in your closet for a year or so, waiting for just the right moment or occassion? Yeah, me too. We have only so many days, months, and years available to us, and that's if we have no accidents or misfortunes. Imagine that you have only, realistically speaking, sixty or seventy summers in your lifetime. That's all. So, don't wait to lose 20 pounds before you wear that swimsuit. Who cares what everyone else thinks? The smart ones will be too busy enjoying the last of their summers, and who cares what the stupid ones think? Spend your life and your time wisely, because, unfortuntely, we do not often get second chances. Use your good dishes, wear your nice underwear and let your kids play an hour longer. What are you waiting for? Go to Disney World when you can afford it, eat in the park with your kids, and wear those old jeans to the mall. Life is too short to worry about sofa covers and carpet runners....enjoy it while it lasts!
