In the Eating for Life topic, is a wonderful article titled Loss, Pain and Food. The article reviews the connection between tragedy & emotional distress and overeating.
Also from the Eating for Life topic, is an interesting article titled Are Your Kids Making You Fat? which explores stresses of raising a family and how they relate to overeating.
In the Rape: Prevention and Survival topic, is an article titled Eating Disorders and the Victim of Sexual Assault". This article discusses recent reports which indicate that a large number of eating disorder patients have suffered some sort of abusive experience.
The Gifted and Talented Teens topic, offers an article titled Eating Disorders in Gifted and Talented Teens, which reviews how weight issues and body image have become such a focus for teens today.
In the Ritual Abuse topic, I found an article titled Eating Disorders and Ritual Abuse which connects childhood rituals and cult programming, with adolescent and adult eating disorders.
The Media Literacy topic, offers an article titled Resisting Stereotypes. This very interesting article, includes a paper written by a Duke University student. Among the situations he considers, is the image of beauty as presented in the media today.
Finally, we had a contributing editor here for a time, who wrote several compelling articles specifically about Anorexia. Mark Stuart Ellison wrote from the perspective a child with an anorexic mother. Although he no longer writes for the Suite, his interesting and informative articles and links are still available under the Anorexia topic.
