Starting a Support Group© Heather Mudgett.
I've received a few emails from people recently, asking for ideas on how to start a support group in their school or community.
To be honest, I have no idea. But, thanks to the wonder of the world-wide-web, I've found some sites which may be helpful in getting started. SELF HELP ANSWER & RESOURCE EXCHANGE LIBRARY Steps and ideas for starting a support group. STUDENT OPENS EATING DISORDER SUPPORT GROUP" An article from the Daily Illini, discussing one student's work starting a eating disorder support group at her university. ANAD: National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders National non-profit organization aimed at helping eating disorder victims and their families. Free hotline counseling and international network of support groups for sufferers and families. American Anorexia/Bulimia Association(AABA) Public information, treatment, referrals, support groups and speakers, educational programs and professional training. As you can see, I didn't find much information about how to start an eating disorder support group. So, I'll turn to YOU for help on this one. If you have ideas, or can suggest links on the subject, please email me at mudge1068@ivillage.com. I'll share the information I receive in the next article. Thanks!!! Go To Page: 1
