Good Eating Disorder Sites to Check Out© Heather Mudgett.
I've come across a few more eating disorder sites which I feel are very worthy of your viewing. These are not professional organizations or hospital sites. Rather, these are the pages of people who are struggling with or recovering from eating disorders... just like me. Please take the time to browse each site. I think you will find them as interesting, and well done as I did.
HUNGER PAINS http://www.nisa.net/~lee/ is a site which has been put together by a recovering anorexic from British Columbia. The site includes areas on Eating Disorders Defined, Where to Go?, Truth & Lies, Reaching Out & Within, Questions & Answers, and Waging War. There is also a wonderful "Hunger Gallery" which features Poetry, Art & Fiction about eating disorders. EMANCIPATION http://indigo.ie/~rhayden/ is another site which I was quite impressed with. Written and managed by a University student from Dublin, Ireland, who is recovering from bulimia. This site offers pages a great deal of information and resources not only for a recovering anorexic or bulimic, but also for friends and family. HEART TO HEART http://members.xoom.com/x_disorders/inde... is a site which offers honest stories about eating disorders. Many of the sites I come across have a lot of similar information (definitions, dangers, support options). This site offers painfully honest stories about how eating disorders have affected different lives. THE COURAGE TO HEAL http://bally.fortunecity.com/sligo/122/c... This is a nice site, written by a recovering bulimic. Her introduction is wonderfully written, and truly inspirational. In addition to her own story of recovery, she provides information and links. FEELING FOODY http://www.angelfire.com/ab/absolutebegi... This site is intended to help those in or seeking recovery from anorxia and/or self-injury. It includes links to sites and information as well as the personal story of it's author's battle with an eating disorder. PALE REFLECTIONS http://members.aol.com/paleref/index.html is a site put together by a young man in England. Although he hasn't had an eating disorder himself, he began working on this site, when a friend he met online admitted that she had an eating disorder. His site has developed a great deal in the past year, and is certainly worth checking out. FALLEN ANGEL http://home.earthlink.net/~amber2/main.h... is a dark little site, written by a young lady who is struggling with an eating disorder and depression. This site seems to be under construction still, and some of the pages are dark and difficult to read, but I think it's worth a look. STILL HANGIN'ON http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Reso... is written by a woman in Australia, who is currently struggling with anorexia & bulimia. Her story is very honest, and may be triggering, so be warned. She has a page of positive and inspirational quotes, which I enjoyed. Go To Page: 1 2
