Homemade Hits 5The day had been long and I was very tired and hungry; on my way home I was almost certain not to find any food. So I was thinking about what I could make that would be really quick and hot and tasty. On getting home, my dreams were shattered. The refrigerator was empty, almost. There was some left-over rice (boiled), one tomato, one onion, one cauliflower and half a dozen eggs. If you're remotely into cooking, this can be close to a disaster. But, I managed...pretty well I might add. In fact I can't remember enjoying a meal more. I swear to you on my favorite non-stick pan; this was the day I made the most perfect tasting fried rice and stuffed omelette ever! The recipes are given below. They were both amazing, authentic and really tasty. Do try it and if it's no good, I'll give you that non-stick. No Ingredient Fried RiceIngredients (ironical???) 2 spring onions Method Heat two tbsp. oil in a wok at very high flame. When it's hot, put in the garlic. Chop the onions (including the green leaves) and add it to the wok. When it's been in for a minute, add crushed chicken tastemaker cubes. Finally, add rice and stir-fry. Sqeeze the lemon, add pepper, sugar and vinegar. Te tastemaker has quite a bit of salt content, but if you like you can pinch in some salt. I prefer to add a little soya souce to give color to the thing. That's it. Done. I would have added in a few shreds of chicken had there been any available, but just like this the fried rice was amazing. No food value, granted. But, taste and stomach-filler, definitely superior. Stuffed OmeletteIngredients 2 eggs Method In a pan, heat 2 tbsp. oil. Beat the eggs and make an omelette. Meanwhile, in another pan, heat the same amount of oil. When it's really hot, add in the garlic, chillies, onions and cauliflower. Let it cook for a minute (sautee). Add in the tomatoes and the puree. This should be smelling really good by now. Finally, add the soy sauce, vinegar, salt and sugar. When the stuffing has been in for 30 secs., add 20 ml of water.
