The Best Nerve-Twisting Cocktails

The quest for great drinks continues this week because I'm simply too bored to write food recipes. We did Smoothies last week which I'm sure you had a ball with. But then, that was for the teetotaller side of you. It was the early morning kick-start or the late afternoon cool-off.

How about a nighhtcap this week? It's been ages since we checked out some of the finer bar-room cocktails and shots you can create at home before tackling that thousand-page novel at bed-time.

So you can travel back to BarNone where we've been once before, to check out some of the goodies they have to get us boffed!

Type Shooter

Ingredients

1/3 oz. Kahlua
1/3 oz. Amaretto
1/3 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream

Method

Layer in a shot glass in the given order. After drinking, notice the vapor trails.

James Bond Martini

Type Cocktail

Ingredients

3 oz. Gordon's Gin
1 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Vermouth

Method

Shaken, not stirred. Garnish with a lime twist.

Bolshoi Punch

Type Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. Vodka
2 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1 Tsp. Powdered Sugar
1/4 oz. Rum
1/4 oz. Creme de Cassis

Method

Shake with ice and strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice.

Monkey's Lunch

Type Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. Banana Liqueur
1 oz. Kahlua
Milk

Method

Mix in a 12 oz. glass half full of ice then add the milk.

Mongolian Dingbat

Type Cocktail

Ingredients

30 ml. Tia Maria
30 ml. Bacardi White Rum
1 Scoop of Ice Cream

Method

Blend together and pour into a cocktail glass... very refreshing in the summer!

Hokkaido Cocktail

Type Cocktail

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 oz. Sake

Method

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Tidbit

Type Cocktail

Ingredients 1 oz. Gin
1 Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream
Dash of Dry Sherry

Method

Blend all ingredients in an electric blender at a low speed for a short length of time. Pour into a highball glass and serve.

Peggy Cocktail

Type Cocktail

Ingredients 1 1/2 oz. Gin
3/4 oz. Dry Vermouth
1/4 Tsp. Anis
1/4 Tsp. Dubonnet

Method

Stir with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.
