What, Me Worry? I Cook!

A week has flown by since you probably made your first meal! By, now you've probably OD'd on the fried rice we made last week. This week, I have some brand new quickies that I found while surfing through an ocean of recipe sites. Instead of putting you through that, I'll just put them up here so you can keep yourself busy in the kitchen for this week.

You'll probably have noticed that when you actually plan a meal, buy the ingredients and begin to prep yourself to create a meal, it gives you the same rush that you get when you begin any new project. And that's the way to treat it too; like your very own brainchild that you have to bring to fruition. I've been told by numerous single men about what a warm feeling it gives them to make something nice and find out that they actually enjoy eating it. (Is that where they got the "getting your cake and eating it" thing?)

Overall, I'd conclude that futzing in the kitchen in wild abandon is a major stress reliever and really helps you wind down for the day. And... it beats getting drunk over a poker game with the buddies; end of sales pitch, we're here on a mission.

Creating A Simple MilkShake

All you'll need for this one is Hershey's chocolate syrup and milk. For variety, keep a stock of fresh bananas or a tin of Nescafe.

Hershey's syrup: Add a generous dollop of it to a tall glass of chilled milk (can't stress the chilled part enough!). If you have a food processor / mixer, put it all in and let 'er rip! If not, place another glass of the same size inverted on your first one, and shake for all your worth. The effort pays!

Bananas: Assuming you don't have a mixer, use 'em good ol' hands to mash a banana into a bowl. Add 1 tsp. of sugar and a slosh of milk and continue mashing till it looks like baby food. Transfer to a glass and top up with milk. Shake the same as above; doesn't give the same effect as a mixer, but does the trick.

Coffee: Add a measure of Nescafe (depends how strong you like yours) to that chilled milk and 2 tsp. of sugar. Go, go, go!

These are real tasty and definitely have a higher health quotient than gin 'n' lime! Enjoy!

Creamy Rich Carrot Soup

It's great for a rainy day; also it's an upgrade from fried rice in terms of "foodula exotica."
