Baking Party

on a few holiday tunes. That's all I did. Soon, the warm smells of baking will be wafting through your house, and that will certainly help spread the holiday mood. You can help this along (and give your friends a bit of sustenance to drive away the temptation of eating your freshly made goods) by offering up some snacks and cocoa.
  • Lay out your tools. Once your pals arrive, you can set up a few work stations for the appropriate tasks. A pile for all baking sheets and pans. A place for mixing. A space for rolling out dough and cutting out cookies. Setting up these stations will help traffic flow.

Make and bake. Let your baking prowess fly. Have fun mixing and making. Share your baking tips and learn a few new ones. Pick up a few new recipes. Mix and match your goods with your fellow bakers for a varied selection of goodies to give.

Pack them up. Once your baked babies are cooled and decorated, you can layer them between sheets of waxed or parchment paper in cake pans with lids and big Tupperware containers. This should be sufficient for toting back home for your friends. If you plan on freezing them, you might consult some of these sites for some guidelines on keeping your goods good until you're ready to give them.

I hope you enjoy your baking party as much as Kramer and I did. This year, I might rope my boyfriend David into being my baking buddy. I know last year my friends Carrie and Marty churned out a fantastic batch of tasty goodies together. Enjoy!
