The bluebells, crocuses, and daylilies are just beginning to sprout in my backyard, as they do every spring. Every time they make their first appearance for the year, I am reminded of the magical garden to come, replete with lush green leaves, twinkling fireflies, and the earthy aroma of flowers and berries, perhaps home to a fairy or two. Riotous greens, perky buds, the smell of freshness in the air ~ there is something enchanting and truly wonderful that comes along with the blooms of spring. What better time to host a Fairy Princess picnic?
For the Fairy Princess in All of Us
What gal doesn't remember the glimmer of fantasy we'd get when a fairy tale was read to us? It's the magic, the fabulousness of it all that makes the idea so appealing. This party should be a celebration of the inner princess in all of us. This party can be thrown for adult and child girls alike (or even together, for moms and daughters). It's a darling diva do!
Encourage your gals to get all gussied up. This is about the fun and the fascination, remember! For adult princesses, this is the perfect opportunity to pull out the foofiest, girliest gowns from proms, balls, and bridesmaids' duties past. What better use could you possibly have for these gems? Little girls can bring out inexpensive dress-up costumes, pull-on tutus, or old holiday dresses. Take the fashion over the top with tiaras,
ribbon and floral head crowns,
princess hats, and fairy wings.
Invitations
Oh, emails and eVites are perfectly sufficient, but a fantastic hard copy invite is so special and befitting of an enchanted party. Remember to remind your friends to dress the part of a fairy princess, ball gown and all.
