The Rise of Fort Loudonit invariably broke their backs. Finally on October 26th twelve guns arrived at the fort. On July 10th Captain DeMere reported that the fort was completed. The finished product had raised platforms in each diamond shaped, corner bastion. There were barracks for the men, officer's quarters, a blacksmith shop, and a stone powder magazine. The accommodations were not very comfortable, but they served the purpose. Next, life at Fort Loudon.
