Help Wanted: Preservationisit and History Buffs

there is no money, make them aware that there are grants out there, just for that purpose. Offer to investigate for them.  (Unfortunatly, and, unfairly, the general public cannot get grants to buy historic property.)

Do your research. Find out what other groups in the same situation have done. Maybe you can adapt some of their ideas. But, keep it legal and above board. You don't want to destroy the rescue before it starts. Then, do what you can. If you live in a historic community, but don't have a historic society, it may be worth while to start one. And don't be too hard on yourself if you are not successful. Preservation doesn't always win, but, you can have the satisfaction of trying.

Check out the Preservation Links. The Poe House link includes a petition you can sign to let your feelings be known. It's still not too late for this one! And, if you find your own projects, good luck. A piece of  history may depend on you.
