How You Can Help

America is living through an event unlike anything it has ever seen before. As the shock begins to fade, we all feel the need to help in any way we can. But many of us are uncertain about how best to do so.

The Salvation Army reports that donations of clothing and supplies have far exceeded the organization’s storage capacity. However, there are two equally important ways you can help: by donating money and blood. Here is a list of organizations that will benefit from your contributions. Please be aware: There are a few unscrupulous online scam artists trying to profit from this tragedy. Consumer protection advocates advise making online donations only on an organization’s official site or through an official partner site, such as Yahoo! or Amazon.com.
