Adobe has announced at Frankfurt Book Fair 2001 the release of its Adobe Acrobat Book Reader software for French, German and Spanish readers. The release makes it the only eBook reader to support both Windows and Mac platforms in the most popular Western languages and continues Adobe's drive towards making PDF documents and eBooks accessible on all popular computer devices. BinaryThing, the ePublishing Network, has announced the launch of its ePublish Store Web site, the brand-new online software store for print and Web publishing professionals. ePublish Store opens with more than 250 products and 45 companies, and lets visitors instantly purchase and download any of the tools listed. The store has grown from the immense popularity of the Planet PDF Store, which receives more than 13,000 downloads each month and almost 250,000 page impressions, and at launch opens with a host of new tools in many newly added ePublishing categories. Thanks to the recent plethora of anthrax scares sweeping the continent, an urgent need for sound medical and scientific information on anthrax and other bioterrorism-related diseases has arisen. McGraw-Hill Professional, a unit of McGraw-Hill Education, is making relevant resources freely available from two of its highly regarded online medical and science references, Harrison's Online and AccessScience. Harrison's Online (http://www.HarrisonsOnline.com) has created a new feature for medical professionals, Bioterrorism Watch, which is a collection of links to relevant chapters, articles, references, news, and other resources. Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, 15th edition, is the world's best-selling and most authoritative internal medicine reference book, providing health professionals with in-depth information on diagnosis, treatment, and medical research. An article from AccessScience on anthrax is currently available on the homepage of McGraw-Hill Education's web site which provides a concise overview of the scientific aspects of anthrax. AccessScience (http://www.AccessScience.com) is McGraw-Hill Professional's online encyclopedia of science and technology, which provides quick and reliable information on thousands of topics. Providing online medical and science resources is one facet of McGraw-Hill Education's effort to respond to the needs of Americans during this difficult time. In the days following the September 11th terrorist attacks, McGraw-Hill Education donated textbooks and materials to four affected New York City schools, which have been temporarily relocated as a result of the World Trade Center crashes. In addition, the Trade division of McGraw-Hill Education is offering to the public--free of charge--the newly released e-book for The Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Sourcebook: A Guide to Healing, Recovery, and Growth by Glenn R. Schiraldi, Ph.D. Dr. Schiraldi has taught stress management at the Pentagon. The e-book is available at the McGraw-Hill eBookstore (http://www.ebooks.mcgraw-hill.com).
