Canada says e-books are books, Adobe buys Glassbook

Sep 3, 2000 - © Richard Loeffler

The McGraw-Hill Cos. has teamed with Reciprocal and ContentGuard to launch its own e-bookstore at http://www.ebooks.mcgraw-hill.com. The new outlet hopes to offer more than 250 additional e-books on the site in the next few months. Only MHC titles will be sold through the site, mainly in the business and general reference areas, although some computer book titles will also be offered. By next year they expect to offer 300 new titles annually in e-book format. Claiming that they have no idea what consumers will pay for electronic books, McGraw Hill will be pricing them at the same rate as the paper editions! Give your heads a shake boys!
