Introducing
the revolutionary Hitachi DZ-MV100ADO, the world's first tape less, optical
disc-based full-motion video and mega-pixel still camera. This digital
camcorder can record up to 2 hours of full motion MPEG2 video and nearly 2000
mega-pixel still images. The DVDCAM uses Maxell's 8 cm DVD-RAM disc which is
compatible with the new generation of Hitachi's DVD-ROM (GD-7500). The camera's
random access capability enables easy editing and viewing. Included is
an Hitachi GD-7500 DVD-ROM drive for instant uploading of still images
and videos to your PC and PowerDVD-VR software for viewing your
recordings on your PC. Imagine a world of products
based around a single disc media - DVD. This vision is part of the DVD World
concept and thus the Hitachi DVD Cam has been designed as the centre of DVD
Compatibility. It is apparent that in the field
of audiovisual (AV) equipment the shift to digital video and audio continues to
increase at a rapid pace. At the same time the advent of faster CPU's and the
growing capacities of hard disc drives is driving a migration of AV
applications to the PC and other digital appliances. Hitachi's European Product Marketing Manager, Roland Fritsch reports that Hitachi has developed a "technology that will significantly change the current camcorder market". Hitachi has used the technology and expertise acquired to develop a milestone in consumer electronic history, the world's first ever DVD Camera.
