Creative Characters

If you are the DM for your group then you may be creating an NPC (Non Player Character) or a new PC for a player. There are several things you should keep in mind .....just because the visualized character concept has a magic sword does not mean the sword is a useful magical sword. It could be a cursed item. I had such a character myself a dwarf with a magical hammer that turned out to be a cursed hammer of throwing and returning. After some time of playing the character I was able to turn a curse into a blessing when the character came into possession of a pair of gloves of missile snaring. These sort of thing adds to the exciting flavor that make a campaign remain in the memories of players for years to come. All this work does have it's rewards when you realize ten years later, you are still laughing about the great time you had while gaming an in depth character. So be sure to make the details interesting.
