HO HO Holiday! It's that time of year again when we break out the ribbons and bows and lights and ornaments and get festive!
Ok, I know it's only 5 days till Christmas and you're saying to yourself, "what the heck is Vickie thinking! There's not enough time for creating a craft project! Wrong! If you're like most people, there's still some shopping to do or last minute gift for a friend and this little project is fun and simple for the whole family. Supplies needed (use a combination of all or make particular themed crafts): 1) If you have any snippets from last years flower crafts, bring them out 2) Ribbon-all Christmas colors 3) miniature cinnamon sticks 4) holly sprigs 5) miniature Christmas decorations preferably one's with pipe cleaner type twists 6) pipe cleaners 7) miniature candy canes (real or plastic) 8) dried (green) plumosa or any other type of greenery 9) gold filigree (real dried flowers and artificial stems) 10) scissors 11) miniature poinsettia stems 12) glue gun (optional) 13) cinnamon scented straw flowers 14) name tags (with strings). First, lay out all of your supplies on a large table. Snippett: Suggest putting newspaper down to catch all the debris from the snippings and glue. Next, start creating your Christmas gift package/tree decoration. For example, take a cinnamon stick, candy cane, red straw flowers (cinnamon scented) greenery, and sprig of holly. Secure together by tying a piece of ribbon around the bunch and then add a little hot glue for extra strength. Cover any dollops of glue with a piece of greenery or gold. Make a loop out of ribbon and attach with hot glue to the back of the craft piece. The craft can be used as a tree ornament once it's been removed from the gift! Another suggestion is if you have ornaments with twist ties, create a gift ornament by selecting a small bunch of flowers and tie the ornament(s) around the items. Tie a piece of ribbon or multi ribbons for extra strength. If your ornaments don't have twist ties, then hot glue to the top of your flower bunch. Once you've created your imaginative pieces, attach your gift nametags. To attach your craft to a present, simple take a piece of ribbon and tie the craft piece to a piece of ribbon on the package. Suggest you just tie a nice bow so it can be easily removed. Once taken off the package, it can be placed on the tree as a new handcrafted and specially designed ornament! Go To Page: 1 2
