Florida Flowers Part 2With the wreath facing you, begin to create the design. The overall affect is of two birds standing in an area filled with reeds and flowers. Start by framing the tallest bird. On the right side of the wreath, insert leaf fronds, reeds and sea oats from the inside bottom rim to the top right side of the wreath. Once in place, use the hot glue. On the bottom of the wreath, right beside the ribbon you just tied, insert leaf fronds and cane spirals adding length to the design. Add your focal flowers beneath the body of the second flamingo. As you get everything in place, use the hot glue. Add moss to cover the base of the flowers. The next layer of smaller flowers can be added. Insert the pinks and/or whites and short stems of larkspur. Add the turquoise pods to compliment and round out the design. Insert the feathers strategically at a downward angle to compliment the flowers. Add a touch of greenery at each side of the flower design. Step back and take a look. Make sure the wreath looks balanced. The focus should be primarily the second flamingo surrounded by wild and exotic flowers while the first bird is standing above it all. You should have plenty of length with the trailing flowers, canes and ribbons. Adjust if necessary and fill in any areas that look thin. Make sure all parts of the uncovered wreath base are “covered” with moss or an additional flower. Now you’re set to hang this tropical work of art in your favorite leisure area. Whether rain or shine, it will always bring a smile to your face. Enjoy and till next time, Happy Crafting from the Sunshine State!
