Miniature Christmas Trees

Ho Ho Ho, we’re getting close and if you’re in need of some last minute decorations, gift items for co-workers, neighbors, clergy or your child wants to make a special gift for their favorite teacher; this project is just for you.

Supplies needed are: 1.) Miniature artificial Christmas trees 5”-6” tall 2.) Miniature presents and decorations 3.) Miniature candy canes 4.) Miniature cinnamon sticks 5.) ΒΌ” ribbon in red, gold, green 6.) Miniature pine cones 7.) Gold filigree 8.) Holly berries, real if you have them 9.) Glue gun, clear glue, and clippers 10.) Pink strawflowers, red and white roses, baby’s breath, red cockscomb, white peonies. Note: Use whatever type of dried flowers you prefer; these are just a few suggestions.

Snippet: If you’ve been saving the bits and pieces of flowers from previous creations now is the time to bring them out!

If you plan to give the tree as a gift place a gift tag around the base along with the ribbon bow. Using the same strategy for the tiny tree as for the larger variety, start at the top and work your way down. Start by placing the miniature items around the tree being sure not to overload it and keeping it in “balance”. Next, place a small dollop of glue on the stem or base of your flower selections and attach to the tree branches. Check to be sure you are distributing the colors evenly. Fill in with holly berries and additional baby’s breath to give the tree a full look. And voila, that’s all there is to it. It doesn’t get much easier and fun than this.

The beauty of these little treasures is you can decorate with flowers only, decorations only or a combo of both like we just created. The ideas and uses are limitless. Give them as gifts, if you’re planning a holiday dinner place a tree at each individual setting with a name card, place them in the window sill, on the kitchen counter or guest bath, spray fake snow on the branches before decorating or spritz a little pine fragrance for a definite Christmas aroma. As you can see I can go on and on with suggestions and so can you! Best of all, at the end of the holidays place the trees in large zip lock bags and store for next year.

Merry Christmas and till next time Best Wishes to you and yours for the holiday.
