Be creative with the English ivy. Using individual leaves and groups of 3 to 4 leaves, place sprigs around the top and bottom rim of the horn. Insert individual leaf stems around the base of an item thus creating a "framed" look. Glue if necessary.

Last step, place the chili peppers wherever you'd like to add a touch of color and pizzazz. You can use a stem with 2 to 3 peppers attached, or use individual peppers for accent. Place the safflower buds within the horn for additional color and balance.

Snippet: If needed, fill any space with an additional sprig of ivy or safflower bud.

Note: If you prefer to use flowers instead of fruits and vegetables, select an assortment of silk autumn colored flowers and a mixture of dried flowers (avena, caspia, bromus or dried oates). Purchase a block of floral foam. Place a layer of foam beneath the moss so the flower stems can be inserted when necessary. Be creative. Once completed, the cornucopia can be used as a very colorful and festive centerpiece.

This is a fast, easy, and inexpensive project that will brighten up your home during the fall months.

I will continue my tribute to the autumn season in the next article with directions on how to make harvest and wild vine wreaths. Hope you enjoy making this project, and till next time Happy Crafting!
