Festive Fall Arrangement

Hi everyone and welcome to Dried Flower Crafts at Suite101. In this topic you'll find numerous articles covering the use of both dried and silk flowers in creating wreaths (straw, willow and grapevine base), swags, centerpieces, arrangements and holiday ornaments.

I've been covering this topic since 1999 and during that time have addressed the many retail supplies available to use when creating flower crafts as well as the use of natural supplies found in your own backyard or neighborhood park that can be used in your original creations.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say "thank you" to all the visitors who've stopped by my topic over the years, posted in the discussion area, emailed me with questions asking "how to" and those who have requested permission to reprint my work. I've enjoyed every minute!

Suite101 is taking on a new format beginning December 1, 2005 and while I hope to continue to be a part of the site, I don't know where that will be so I wanted to post this last article so all of you who have subscribed to my topic along with new visitors stopping by will be aware of the changes that are taking place.

The new format is an exciting one and I hope everyone will continue to support Suite101 and enjoy the thousands of articles that are available to you.

As those of you who've been with me for awhile know, the upcoming fall season is one of my most favorite times of the year and so I'd like to leave you with one last project.

I'd like to create a fall centerpiece that can be used throughout the whole season. This is a very simple arrangement but one that will bring the fall colors into your home.

Supplies needed: • Clear 12" tall glass vase • 2 packages of Tissue paper (1 beige, 1 orange) • 1 piece of crafters foam • 1 package of moss (beige) • Several stems of silk fall-colored leaves, such as oak http://www.driedflowersrus.com/catalog/p... • 1 package of burgundy avena - http://www.driedflowersrus.com/catalog/p... • 1 package of yellow ting-ting - http://www.driedflowersrus.com/catalog/p... • 1 package of wheat - http://www.driedflowersrus.com/catalog/p... • 1 bundle of Caspia in yellow - http://www.driedflowersrus.com/catalog/p...

The above flower suggestions come from the Dried Flowers "R" Us website. They have quite a selection and you may find other dried and silk flowers you'd rather use. Remember, this is your creation so don't be afraid to experiment with different textures, flower types and colors!

Start by placing the tissue paper in the vase. If you use multiple colors, I would suggest layering one over the other so that when you fan out the paper around the top of the vase, it will have a rainbow effect.
