Father's Day Project

Once the outside is completely drawn and glued, let it sit for a few minutes so everything dries.

When you're ready, open up the card and you can decorate the inside with more cutout fish or even draw some starfish. Be sure to save room so you can write your dad a note and don't forget to sign it!

If your dad like's to play golf, follow the same steps as above except place green on the bottom portion of the card for "grass". Leave a little bit of the card open so you can add some yellow moss to denote a "sand trap". Use the twigs or sticks to make trees. Glue these on the middle line. You can add little bits of green for leaves and you can also color in some red apples or add bits of flowers to the tree.

Here's where we need your artistic eye again. Draw your stick dad on the line in the middle and be sure to draw his golf club. You can glue bits of dried flowers onto the grass and around the tree and if you have any miniature animals, glue them on the card.

Once everything is in place and the glue has dried, open up the card and create the inside. Easy.

Another suggestion is to create the outside of the card with flowers and balloons.

Take your construction paper and cut out different sized circles (quarter and fifty-cent piece sized) in different colors for the balloons. Suggest 6 to 10 circles.

Glue these in place at varying heights and be sure to mix the colors. Glue a piece of thread from the bottom of each circle all the way to past the middle of the card. Do not glue the whole thread. Just the bit located at the bottom of the balloon to the bottom of the "V". Bring them together in a "V" as though someone were holding a bunch of balloons. Leave the bottom strings loose so they dangle. Where they all meet at the base of the "V", cut a piece of ribbon, tie a bow and glue to this area. It will cover up the glued strings.

Next, take various bits and pieces of dried flowers in all colors and glue them to the card. Make this very colorful! For added color, cut out tiny squares of paper, in all colors, and glue onto the card. This would look like confetti.
