Easter Tulip Wreath

Okay, it's almost Easter day and you want to create something festive to decorate your home but takes a minimal amount of time to make. Read on as this project is for creating a simple, yet elegant, tulip wreath.

Not only is it easy to make, it can continue being used as a spring-themed decoration after the Easter holiday.

Supplies needed are minimal and creating the wreath should take no more than an hour. This is something you can do today and have adorning your front door or wall space by this afternoon!

Here's a list of suggested items:

· Willow wreath - you determine the size. For smaller area's, a 6-inch wreath but for your front door or large wall space, I'd suggest 12-14 inch wreath. · Silk tulips in assorted spring colors (pink, yellow, lavender, white, blue) or use any other spring favorite flower such as the iris or daffodil. Baby's breath (optional) · Greenery for filler such as plumose fern · 1 bag of beige moss · Ribbon (1-4-inch) in assorted colors to compliment your flowers · Miniature bunnies, baby ducks, baby chicks (optional). These are usually found in either plastic form with a stickpin or fuzzy form. (1 ½-2 inches tall). I find these at the local Dollar Store in their holiday craft area. · Hot glue gun · Craft scissors · Wreath hanger (optional) you can hang the wreath by making a loop with the ribbon but for a door, the hanger would be best.

First, lay out a piece of newspaper over your work area to prevent hot glue from getting on your furniture.

Next, because we're working with a willow-based wreath vs. a straw wreath, you'll find that you're limited in the amount of "anchor" area you have. By adding the beige straw, this will give us something to help hold the flowers in place. So, drizzle the hot glue over the face of the wreath and inside the rim then gently press the moss into place.

As an added reinforcement, I usually take two pieces of ribbon and wind them around the wreath. Starting at the top, just wind the ribbon over and under all the way around the wreath. This will help hold the moss in place and gives us another "anchor" spot. There should be about 3-inches between each section of ribbon. This is up to you. You can make the sections wider or smaller.

Next we'll be placing the flowers. This is where you'll need your craft scissors because, as you probably know, the silk flower stems are very difficult to cut.
