Did you miss me?It is a long ugly story fraught with computer, ISP and health problems but I won't bore you with it. I am back and there is a lot of catching up to do. First let's take a look at the NHRA points race: Top Fuel has Gary Scelzi over Tony Schumacher in a still very tight match of 1029 to 990 points. This one will go down to the wire. In Funny Car Tolliver has a slim lead as well over John Force. Do not ever count Force out. I would still put my money on him. Spread is 1008-935. Pro Stock is not surprising to find the Coughlin leader Jeg out front. What is surprising is Krisher separates Couglin from Warren Johnson. Run down is 1027-838-783. Krisher could be the split that keeps WJ away from Jeggie. Pro Stock Motorcycle is a repeat from last year with Angelle Seeling leading Matt Hines 793-693. She says the difference this year is she is more relaxed and confident. She was also the one who benefitted from a Hines red light at Mile High in Denver. Pro Stock truck is Panell over Daniels, Federal Modul Dragster has Santos widening the gap with Jay Meyers and Federal Mogul Funny Car has Pat Austin with a paper thin 12 pt lead over Frank Manzo. The closest of the matches. Leaders in Comp: Charlie Stewart, S/S: John Scheiss, Stock: Jody Lang, S/C Kyle Seipel and S/G Dan Northrup. At the last meet which was the Mile High in Denver, Bazemore took Funny Car, Kurt Johnson took Pro Stock but his surprising competitor was Darrel Alderman who hasn't done much of anything this year. Top Fuel was Joe Amato who I will comment on below and of course Angelle got the win over a red light by Hines. Joe Amato who had to have laser surgery to repair an eye problem is already back in the car. Special chutes were installed to take the pressure off the negative G force on his eyes. If you think that strange or silly note that "Big Daddy" Don Garlits retired from Drag Racing because the negative G's detached his retina. 'nuff said. Well, I hope that catches you up. Hopefully things will be on time from here on out. Studebaker.
