NHRA Finals from Atlanta and ADBA Finals from DarlingtonThe weather was great, the crowd was huge, some of the racers had to be pitted in the spectator parking and the track was in pretty good condition at Atlanta. The only sour note was my camera broke so once again we have no photos but we will point you to some in other places. Jeg Coughlin took W.J.'s home crowd race away from him. Jeggie who appears to be the driving force this year in Pro Stock has been beating them up. There was an article in the local Atlanta newspaper about how the Jegs team travels around with two Pro Stock Cars, two Pro Stock Trucks, an entorage of about twenty family and employees and their own personal chef. They believe that track food was weighing and slowing them down. Watch for some of the more lucrative teams to start grabbing up chefs. Next we'll see personal trainers, masseuses and personal psychics in the pit area. John Force unveiled a new body style so he can sell more die cast models. He has the fist, lightning bolts and the words Brute Force on it as it was in his old days. He also has begun his comeback after early WWF domination by Jerry Tolliver. Force took Richmond and now Atlanta. He will be the Force to be reckoned with. Winston had a full sweep as both Gary Scelzi and Angelle Seeling took T/F and Pro Stock Bike. Angelle couldn't even hold the track in qualifying on Friday but stormed to number one qualifier in Saturday's sessions while announcing her engagement to long time boy friend. Pro Stock S-10 was once again taken by Randy Daniels but for the second time this year a Dodge qualified. Check out all the stories at www.nhra.com. In Darlington the ADBA finally got to run after rain soaked their previous match. John Mancuso had top speed in Top Fuel bike at 211.16 and low ET of 6.714 but broke in the semi-final round to eventual Winner Jim Mclure. Complete story on this one is at: http://www.americandragbike.com/racing/r... I have a few B&M photos up and will try to get a few more up. Old camera is being repaired and new one is being looked at. Digitals are coming down daily it seems and getting nearer my budget. I have a FM/FC team putting together a story on themselves for later this summer and some other things cooking. Super Chevy show coming up in June here in Atlanta. The Harleys will be here in July. News every week. Would like to here more stories, questions and comments from readers. I want to make this your column so drop me a line.
