March B&M Racer Appreciation Run in Commerce, GA

It was cold and very windy on this weekend in March but it didn't keep the B&M faithful from coming out in full force. The B&M Racer appreciation series rotates around the south attracting a lot of racers who enjoy it for it's simplified rules and relaxed atmosphere.

The Hot Rods were plenty but fans were few as the 1/8th mile series ran. Of course the Chevrolets still dominated in sheer numbers of Camaros, Chevy IIs and Vegas but their were some unique rides as well. Lisa Littrell showed up with her beautiful '64 GTO and punched out numbers in the mid 6's at a little over 100 mph. There were plenty of old Mopars and a rare old Fiat leftover from the Altered days. Sam Leigh showed up with a Chevette he had dropped a 327 SBC into and punched out consistently in the low 7's. Dale Wilson brought his 240Z with the 350 SBC and showed a 6.5. There was a beautiful Chevy Blazer that caught my eye but I never got a chance to talk to the owner. Any info appreciated.

The B&M will be back at Atlanta Dragway this fall and I'll do a followup.
