NHRA-In two weeks the NHRA will bring a new track into the National Competition arena. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is ready for their inaugural event April 6-9. I am curious to see how the Pro crews handle it. Will it be similiar to Phoenix or will their be new challenges. Since no one knows if it is night or day in Las Vegas, nightime runs should be no problem. I also wonder about the off track betting. What are the odds on say "The Professor" Warren Johnson or The Exide T/F team?

Brad Jeter has moved up a class from Pro Stock Truck to Car. Steve Schmidt has decided to step aside and allow Jeter the chance to compete in the Schmidt team Pontiac. The whole story on both of these items is at NHRA.com.

Condolences go out to the Dale Creasy, Sr and Jr family. Kate Creasy passed away due to injuries suffered in an auto accident. The family could use some help with the medical expenses so if you can help you can also find the address on NHRA.com.

I attended a Junior Drag Racing only event this weekend at Silver Dollar Dragway in Reynolds, GA. I plan to devote two or three columns to Jr. Drag Racing this spring. To say the least, I was impressed. I don't have all the numbers yet but it was a great turnout. There were champions in every category and one competitor showed up from Queensland, Australia.

Jr. Drag Racing is a great way to motivate your child and give the family a project together. Jr. Dragsters are 8-17 years of age and compete in a variety of classes. Next time you see some of these kids, pay attention to their level of competitiveness and enthusiasm for the sport.

Coming Up.... This weekend is a busy one hear in Georgia. Saturday I will be at the Division II qualifiers at Silver Dollar but will miss the finals as I plan to catch the AMA/Prostar Motorcycle run in Commerce at Atlanta, Dragway. Will give you a run down on both of those later.

For now, Good racing and see you at the track. Studie.
