Media files? Music? Pictures? Jasc's Media Center Plus may be for you. I personally have over 5000 images currently stored on my hard drive & on removeable media. Not to mention my collection of music & video clips. Media Center Plus will read the following formats:

Read & Plays: Three audio formats, MP3, MID, WAV. Reads: 34 Raster Image Formats & 13 Vector Image formats.

Although Media Center Plus is capable of handling thousands of media files per album collection, this can dramatically cut down on loading the album & any changes made to the album once loaded. Depending on your processing speed & memory I recommend limiting the album size.

Add comments, keywords & even weblinks to your albums & individual media files. Sort, delete & rename individual or 'batch rename' media files within your collection. Edit individual images by specifying a image editing program for Media Center Plus to open.

Run a slideshow or even utilize your favourite album as a screensaver (screensaver feature can be accessed under Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display/Screensaver/ then Jasc Media Center Plus under the list of installed screensavers). Ironically, Media Center Plus does not provide an option for setting a wallpaper from a selected image within an album or from the screensaver.

My favourite feature of Media Center Plus is the program's ability to 'extract' different media types out of thousands that a user may have residing on his or her hard drive. The user can either select media files individually or by scanning folders (including subfolders) toadd files to an album collection.

Plan carefully when selecting the drive & directory of choice for your media files. Media Center Plus will not automatically search for the moved media files when the album is opened. Instead, a user must manually edit the drive & directory ID for each album in order for Media Center Plus to find the moved media files.

Media Center Plus provides several web templates for output to a web document. However, I did find that the webpages created by Media Center Plus only ready properly within IE Explorer (full sized pictures would not load within Netscape).

Images can be uploaded to a free user's on-line gallery (with registration) located at StudioAvenue.com. I am not a user of StudioAvenue & therefore have not reviewed this feature.
