Misery Loves Company decided to split up. Their record label, Earache, announced this just when plans for the second leg of their world tour were being done.

The German power metallers Blind Guardian are currently writing their new album. The songs are 70% done and the band will enter the studio this month in order to start recording. The album will be released sometime between May and October next year.

The new album of hard core legends from the states Pro Pain, is finished and will be released later this month. The album was recorded at the band's studios and it is self produced. It is their sixth album and the title is "Round 6", while it marks a back to the roots approach for the band.

Amorphis from Finland will enter the studio this month in order to record their brand new album. The band hopes to release the album in February next year.

The new album of Amber Asylum is finished and will be released through Release Entertainment this month. The title of the album is "Supernatural Parlour Collection" and it features a Black Sabbath cover.

The German symphonic metallers Rage have started preparing their next studio album. The title of the album will be "Welcome To The Other Side" but no release date has been announced yet.

Metal Church will soon enter the studio in order to record their new studio album. No title or release date have been announced yet by the band or their label.

Emperor are currently working on their new album. The band hopes to finish the album in February and release it in April or May. According to the band it is going to be different than what they have done so far.

Deranged will enter the studio in December to record their new album. The band says it will be faster and more brutal than anything they have done so far. They will also release a live album which they will record during their Japanese tour.

Vomitory have already finished the recordings to their new album "Revelation Nausea", the vocals will be done by bass player Erik Rundqvist from now on.

The Canadian power metal band Eidolon, who have released the record "Nightmare World" in July, are again busy recording the next album "Hallowed Apparition", which should be available in Spring.

Amon Amarth are going to enter Studio Abyss in November to record their third full length for Metal Blade Records. The working title is "The Crusher", but this is not the final title of the album. All music, lyrics and artwork are in the same Viking spirit as it has always been. According to the band no fan of the first two records will be disappointed. The album will probably be released in February 2001.
