Weekly NewsTape of Doom/Death Music (October, 23)

Review of the week:

HAUNTED - The Haunted Made Me Do It / Earache

The new album of the band is slightly more brutal than their previous one. The music has more influences from death metal, though not many and mainly concerning the vocals which are not entirely clean, but it's roots are still deeply in thrash metal. It's a fast album from every aspect. The songs are short and straight to the point and the albums lasts about 40 minutes or something. This means that there are no "fillers" and all eleven songs that made it to the album really deserved to be there. Classic thrash music, mixed with slightly more brutal vocals and approached in a very fresh and modern way. Excellent compositions and even better arrangements that catch your attention and never let it go. The Haunted are a band that certainly know how to play good music and they have no problem to prove it again. The production is very good and the title of the album is one of the more clever ones I've seen the last years. An album made for headbanging and nothing else. Satisfaction guaranteed for our thrash metal readers from a band that still has a lot to offer to the scene.
