The NYC based hardcore metal band Unsane has split up. The members go separate ways now with Cut Throats nine, Man's Run, Foetus and Player's Club.

Century Media has signed the Swedish death metal band The Forsaken. The band (Anders - Vocals, Pat - Gitarre, Stille Steff - Gitarre, Nicke - Drums und Micke (EVERGREY) - Bass) will enter the studio in September to record their debut album.

Lock Up would like to do some more shows but due to Tagten's busy schedule they decided to get someone else. That someone else is former At The Gates member Thomas Lindberg. The band hope to tour South America at the end of September, possibly recording some of the shows for a live mini-album which is due out in January and will include covers of songs by Terrorizer and Impaled Nazerene. Meanwhile, the band will continue to write songs for their next full length album.

The new Mystic Circle album, which they will soon start recording, will have the title "The Great Beast". The album will be released in February 19th 2001.

God Dethroned are in the studio to record their third Metal Blade album. The release date for the album is late January 2001.

Iron Savior decided to get another guitarist for the band, after a long time thinking about it. The new band member is Piesel (Joachim Kustner) who worked as a guitar-roadie for years and recently played a Gamma Ray show in Mexico because Dirk Schlachter (Gamma Ray guitarist) wasn't able to play the gig.

The Italian Gothic Metal band Lacuna Coil will enter the studio during October in order to record their second full length album. The album will be produced by Waldemar Sorychta.

Century Media have signed the weird Finnish, bombastic black metal outfit And Oceans. They are currently working on new material to record in Studio Abyss, Sweden in October. According to the band it's slightly mellower than the last album but still highlighting their bizarre approach to songwriting and lyrics. The title of their new album is "Allotropic/Metamorphic - Genesis Of Dimorphism".

German Beer Masters, Tankard, have been forced off the road until, at least, the end of the year after singer Gerre suffered more of a re-occurring throat problem. A specialist recently told him that to take up microphone duties would seriously risk his chances of ever being able to sing again properly.
