The ProgPower organization announced that they have arranged a ProgPower pre-party on Friday November 10, 2000, also in Sjiwa, Baarlo, The Netherlands. Evergrey from Sweden will headline this event, they will be supported by Norwegian newcomer Sonic Debris, who will soon enter the scene with their debut album Velvet Thorns. In related news Shadowkeep were forced to cancel their show at ProgPower and will be replaced by a band from the Scandinavian Prog Power contest.

The new album of Nevermore will be released in mid September. The title of the album is "Dead Heart In A Dead World". The band has officially parted ways with guitar-player Tim Calvert who left the band in good terms to retire to his private life.

Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth underwent surgery on his neck in an attempt to relieve the constant pain he has fought through for the last four years. Originally injured during an intense on-stage performance, Jon tried various forms of physical therapy before finally resorting to an operation. While the surgery was a success and the recovery is going very well, it will still be many months before Jon is fully healed. Meanwhile the band is preparing their new album which will be titled "Horror Show" and is scheduled for a February 2001 release.

Power-Metalheads Tad Morose are finished with recording their new studio album, probably entitled "Undead" or "Nuclear Skies". The only change since their last studio album is that now they don't have a keyboard player since they decided to have louder guitars instead of keyboards. In related news their previous label Black Mark just released "Reflections", a compilation from their three previous albums.

The legendary heavy metal band Motorhead will celebrate their 25 years with a special concert at Brixton Academy in October 22nd. The concert is named "25 Years It Doesn't Matter Anymore" and the band promises a lot of surprises for the fans in the form of guest appearances and more.

Metal Blade has signed Catastrophic, the new band of Trevor Peres. Trevor is known to be long-time member of Obituary. Catastrophicis also Death Metal, the band is about to start the recordings for the first album these days.

Canadian metallers Annihilator have finished the mixing of their new album. The album is titled "Carnival Diablos" and the line up of the band is the same as in their last studio album.
