Weekly Doom/Death Music News (September, 9)


Last month we reported that the replacement of Astenu in Dimmu Borgir was Archon. It looks like things didn't work out with him and now the band has recruited Galder from Old Man's Child as a permanent member. He will participate in the new album which will be recorded in September and which is yet untitled.

The new album of Doro is finished and will be released in September 12th. The rock goddess hopes to find her place again in the hearts of metal fans with this album.

It looks like Van Halen and David Lee Roth are working together in Eddie's private studio for a new album. The album which is untitled yet should be ready for release by the end of the year and it will be followed by a world tour.

Imagika, Bay Area Thrashers, have signed a deal with Massacre and they are working on their third album. Their new album, titled "... And So It Burns" will be released in September.

Legendary German Thrash Metal band Kreator have signed a deal with SPV. The band will enter the studio before the end of the year to record their new album which will be in the vein of "Coma Of Souls". The album is scheduled to be released in March 2001.

The title of the new album of Helloween will be "The Dark Ride" while the title of the first single is "If I Could Fly". The single will be released by in the beginning of September while the album at the end of October.

Borknagar have had to cancel their scheduled European tour with Mayhem, Red Harvest and Griffin after Simen Hestnaes aka ICS Vortex decided to concentrate 100% on his Dimmu Borgir duties and start work on their forthcoming album.
