Review of the week:

SINS OF THY BELOVED - Perpetual Desolation / Napalm

To be honest I had never heard these guys before, but their album was a big surprise for me. They are playing atmospheric metal with influences from Theater Of Tragedy, Goth and some atmospheric Black Metal bands and they are playing it in the best possible way. They have two singers, one female operatic voice and one male brutal voice, that fit perfectly and are simply completing one another and the music is ominous, atmospheric and heavy. I really liked the way the songs are changing from heavy to atmospheric, with the vocals being in the foreground and the guitars in the background adding the required heaviness. The album has the ability to transmit to the listener different emotions and feelings at the same song. It changes mood very easily and it can capture both your attention and your imagination. The production is good and the cover of Metallica's "The Thing That Should Not Be" interesting the least to say. Highly recommended to all our readers.
