Review of the week:

LACUNA COIL - Half Life / Century Media

This is the new E.P. of this Italian Gothic / Atmospheric Rock band. Once more Andrea and Christina are handling the vocals exceptionally well, completing each other with their different voices and style of singing. This E.P. in rather more atmospheric than their previous album and in one song you will find the band experimenting with some electronic sounds. The cover of "Stars" is a very interesting one, since it's a very emotional song and the band is adding to it a darker atmosphere. The production is once again perfect and it helps the band to create the required and desired atmosphere. I feel that this time their atmospheric influences have taken over the leading role, leaving their Goth elements more in the background, but always present. Lacuna Coil seem to have the charisma to capture the imagination of the listener and that's something really important. Check them out first chance you get.
