Review of the week:
KHALI - Khali / Academy Records
This is a project by two members of Time Machine (guitars and vocals with the vocalist having also credits for his work with Mesmerize and Skylark) and two members of Archangel. The music they play is melodic metal with influences from the progressive scene and bands such as Queensryche. Time Machine fans will find many known elements in their sound only that it is slightly more heavy. The voice of the singer is something more than excellent, the guitar parts highly melodic and rhythmic and rhythm section steady and pounding. The only way to describe the album is as highly addictive. Once you've heard it (and assuming you like melodic / progressive metal) it's gonna stick in your CD-Player for days. The crystal clear production is just completing the puzzle of one of the best releases not only for this month but for the whole year.
