Concert news first as always. The first concert of the year and the century in with Dark Nova, Sorrowful Winds and Wisdom in An Club at January 9th. Three of the best Greek Power Metal bands will present their music to the Athenian audience in a concert that for many people will present the future of Classic and Power Metal in Greece. This is a chance to support the Greek scene and let the guys prove what they can do. Dimmu Borgir will follow in February at Bug Club. A Black Metal symphony that promises to rock the place to the ground. The band is one of the best Black Metal acts around and we have waited a really long time to see them. Well... the waiting is over. There are more concerts for the months to come, but nothing is still confirmed. But as far as we know there's gonna be something for everybody...

Recently there's been a mass e-mail campaign from some territories of Russia stating that Marduk ripped off some promoters and never played the seven shows they were supposed to play there. The band answered with an official statement that says "The cancelled shows in the ex-USSR territory were totally beyond our control. We were told by our tour manager that it was impossible to enter those countries because our papers weren't correct and that the custody could steal our equipment. Our tour manager fooled us and the same day he took off with 50,000 DM and ripped off our booking agency. He has been now arrested. That is the only reason for those cancelled shows. If we would have not wanted to play in those countries we would of course never had booked them. But we wanted to play there and that was what we were looking forward to most on the whole tour. Who can seriously think that we wanted seven days off in the middle of the tour? That's fucking bullshit! Both we and our booking agency lost a lot of money on it and we lost the opportunity to play where we most of all wanted to play!"

The Iced Earth live album "Alive in Greece" (John Schaffer, their guitar player shown right) went gold recently and is soon expected to go platinum. We Greeks are proud to be the first country that gives to this excellent band their first gold record ever. The band will celebrate the achievement with a trip in Greece within the next two or three months where they will play a concert for a handful of lucky fans and they will receive the golden record from their distributors in Greece (Sound & Vision).
