Review of the week:
IN EXTREMO - Verehrt Und Angespien / Metal Blade
The second album (in a very short period of time) by these German Folk Metallers. They have an incredible ability to mix metal with Folk music from Germany (but also from Italy, France and maybe some other European countries) and to create music that's catchy. Their second album is quite harder than their debut (which was more Folk oriented, but still metal) and not only in terms of the music, but also in the production. These seven guys from Berlin are using a lot of strange instruments in order to create the sound they want. while the lyrics of the songs are written in the original ancient languages of European countries. The surprise comes when it's time to listen the cover of "This Corrosion" from Sister of Mercy. They manage to make it even darker and heavier, but still very atmospheric. The ancient and Medieval atmosphere is one of the basic ingredients of their music. These guys kick major ass. Recommended to all our readers without a moment of hesitation.
