Fates Warning will not appear on ProgPower 99 which will take place in Tilburg Holland, on November 14th. The promoters were forced to cancel the show due to the lack of sponsors who would pay the trip. The hole in the line-up will be filled by Evergrey from Sweden. All the visitors of the festival will receive a promo package with at least one CD-Single and other promo material. Raven have just released "raw tracks" on Massacre records in Europe (due to come out on Metal Blade in the us later this year). The disc is a collection of previously unreleased live/studio material. A box set without the rip-off!" quips vocalist/bassist John Gallagher...along with his brother Mark (guitars) & Joe Hasselvander (drums). The band have just completed mixes on their new studio album with producer Michael Wagener at the helm. The album title is to be "One For All".
Primary Slave is the new name given to the Lilith project, set up by guitarist Paul Allender ex- and founder member of Cradle of Filth / The Blood Divine. Spiritual Beggars are in the studio recording their new album. The songs were written last year and 13 of them will be featured in the new album.
Pissing Razors have replaced guitarist Matt Lynch with Ceasar Soto. Lynch left the band in order to spend more time with his family in El Paso, TX. Soto had been the Razors long time guitar tech, soundman, driver and fellow tequila slammer.
There's been some rumors lately that David Coverdale and Eddie Van Hallen will work together. The rumors say that Eddie wants to bring David to Van Hallen because he is not satisfied with Gary Cherone, but that's unlikely to happen. Meanwhile Coverdale will soon release a Blues / Hard Rock project. A cooperation like Coverdale / Page seems more likely to happen.
Mayhem have signed to Seasons Of Mist label, from France, and they will soon enter the studio in order to record their new album, "Great Declaration Of War". Their new company will take care of the problem with the many bootlegs of the band that are being released. After September all the labels who are releasing bootlegs of Mayhem will face the court.
