Concert news first. The one and only, the best Heavy Metal band of all time, Iron Maiden will perform live at Peristeri Football Stadium on Friday October 1st. The band will bring along their full production, which includes a massive light show, a theatrical stage set and of course Eddy in all his glory. It is the last show of their European tour and after that they will enter the studio to begin recording their new album. Gamma Ray will also visit Greece in October but the date is not confirmed yet.

The new album of Pantera will be released in mid October and the band is currently working on it, in their own studios. Before Christmas the band will also release a DVD video featuring all the home videos they have released so far. The DVD will be titled "3 Vulgar Videos From Hell".

Bruce Dickinson will soon release (probably during October) a live album, which was recorded during his tour in South America. The title of the album is "Scream For Me" and it will contain 13 songs, mostly from "Chemical Wedding".

Luca Turilli, the guitar player of Rhapsody, will release his solo project in September 27, titled "King Of Nordic Twilight. The single "The Ancient Forest Of Elves" has already been released. In both releases Fabio Leone (Rhapsody's singer) is doing the vocals.

More Motley troubles. Nikki Six, bass player of Motley Crue, was arrested in Las Vegas after the show of the band, for encouraging violence. According to the police Nikki encouraged the crowd to start flipping over police cars, because the police said to the band, that they can't be themselves. When the cops tried to arrest Nikki, the other three members of the band, tried to interfere so they were arrested too. Well I guess that any publicity is good publicity.

The new album of Danzig will be released in October and it is titled "Danzig 6:66 Satan's Child". It is the sixth album of the band so far. The sound is a hybrid between industrial and Metal with the known doomy Danzig elements. Next year the band will release a double live album since they have recorded a lot of shows during their career.

Review of the week:

HELLOWEEN - Metal Jukebox / Raw Power

Helloween wanted to celebrate their 15th anniversary with a special recording and so they did. This album contains no new songs at all. The band instead of releasing a best of album or a live album they released an album where they play their favorite songs. So it's an album full of covers. Songs originally played by The Beatles, David Bowie, Faith No More or Scorpions, to name just a few, are "suffering" the treatment of Helloween. Some songs sound the same as the original ("Space Oddity"), some very different than the original ("Locomotive Breath" or "Mexican"), some sound absolutely great ("Juggernaut") and some are better left alone ("White Room"). But the overall feeling is that the band did exactly what it wanted to do, had serious fun recording them and the fans will get the same feeling from most of the songs. If you are a die hard fan of the band, you're gonna love it anyway. The rest will find some great covers.
